clavel arquitectos

Manuel Clavel is one of architecture's young titans, a radical poet whose work also includes numerous books, social activism, lecturing and more.

The studio is based in the city of Murcia in south-eastern Spain and has been responsible for numerous exciting projects, notably in Murcia and Spain but stretching as far afield as China. In Murcia, a city famed for its early 20th century architectural legacy, and a place which is also emerging a hotbed of creativity and progressive thinking, Clavel is a leading light in fermenting public participation in architecture and planning.

Clavel's work exudes dynamism, but it is also incredibly beautiful and uplifting. The firm is seeing a lot of global acclaim for its output and has garnered over 40 architectural awards to date.

Clavel was born in Murcia in 1976 and studied architecture at ETSAM, the acclaimed Madrid polytechnical school before leaving for London in 2002 on a scholarship where he worked for several years at Foreign Office Architects. Thereafter he returned to Spain where he founded his current studio.

One always senses that Clavel and his talented team is really becoming one of the seminal players in early 21st century architecture and we are grateful and excited to announce Clavel Arquitectos' participation in the Cyprus Villa Project.
